A second Chance at Love!

A Soldier's Sweetheart by Soraya Lane is a sweet and emotional read about second chances.
Nate Calhoun has not been the same since his return to small-time life after what he went through in Special Forces. He will not talk to anyone and won't interact with his family, whom he was very close to. But the demons that follow him are too much and he can't tell anyone what happened to him. And he doesn't want to let Sarah near him after she betrayed him and married his friend short after he broke up with her.
Sarah Anderson knows that Nate needs someone to talk to, someone who will keep his secrets, but she doesn't want to be that person. She has already loved him once and he left her and broke the promise to return to her, she can't face loving him again, the pain of loosing him might destroy her.
But the need to help her childhood sweetheart is more than her need to protect herself. With a little love and patience she will help the man she has always loved in her heart and just maybe be able to find something that will last. But first she will need to help him see her perspective about what really happened and tell him her secret she has kept from everyone before making a lifetime decision.
If you want to read about sweet romance that endures separation and pain but where true love wins it all, then this story is for you.

It seems lately I have been reading about soldier's coming home with problems from the war. I wish thier was a magic pill that could help them all. Thank You all for your service.
Nate Calhoun has come back to the family ranch wounded both physcally and emotionly. Nate was Special Forces and he loved his job until the last year of it. Nate is not fitting in at home, as nightly terrors & temper is on edge.
He has not met his brand new siblings.
Walking is hard to do with his wounded leg. When he gets to his tree that he used to spend a lot of time under thier is someone thier, Sarah Anderson.
Sarah was his best friend and they used to dream and plan under thier tree. When Nate finally broke it off she had married his good friend Todd.
Sarah has her own heartache. Todd left her for another women and she is pregnant.
Sarah has always wanted a family and now she knows that she can never have her own.
For me I have only read a few of The Larkville Legacy and they have been apart from each other. To me I really have not connected all the stories together in my mind.
I like how Sarah and Nate are opening up to each other, that thier is no easy answer to solve the problems they have. They seem to be real. I wish thier was more of the surrounding characters involved in the story more.
Thier is a couple of love scenes that I skipped over. It is a nice emotional story.
I will read more of Soraya work in the future.

A sweet self-fulfillment!

I've wanted to read romance for a while, but I've shied away from a genre I expected to be dominated by the same things you'd find on the Hallmark channel or Oxygen. You know, "Man does bad, independent woman gets back, man apologizes" type stuff. I've wanted to read romance, but I wanted something that appealed to my emotional and physical wants as a male, which I doubted I'd find.
This took me by wonderful surprise! An all-too-short story exploring the worries and feelings of two people who finally get to have one another. Nate's initial brooding bothered me only because he had the very thing I wish for so desperately; someone special to him trying to come into his life, trying to open him back up. Sarah's repetitive concerns were somewhat annoying, until I realized how frequently I, myself, fall back onto my own repeated worries.
And on top of it all, what I worried most about, was that Nate got to be the man. As Sarah opened them up emotionally, he got to open them up physically, he was the one on top (not just figuratively), he even got to save and comfort her when in distress! It's everything I hoped for, but was afraid wouldn't exist in a dedicated romance. And it came at a time I needed it most.
