Lachann first meets Anna when she is helping her best friend Kayla. He then saves Anna when she is being choked by Birk. Lachann realizes from watching Anna, that she will do anything to help the people that live in Kilgorra. He also realizes from watching, that his intended Catriona is a terrible person that hurts people any chance she gets. As Lachann and Anna work together to help the people of Kilgorra, they begin to fall in love with each other. Lachann knows to protect his clan he MUST marry Catriona.
This is a wonderful must read story of true love conquering all. I look forward to reading more books by Ms Maquire!

Love in the Highlands

Lachann MacMillan has traveled to Kilgorra to wed Catriona MacDuffie. He wants to be the Laird of his own realm so he's willing to take a bride he doesn't love. His heart was broken once and he vowed that it won't happen again. Upon landing he meets a maid, Anna MacIver and is attracted to her beauty and kindness. He doesn't know that Catriona hates her and wishes her harm. To further complicate matters, Lachann finds his arch-enemy, Cullen Macauley, wooing Catriona. The stage is set for treachery, deceit and desire. The story is a tale of good versus evil. Lachann and Anna are destined to be lovers but are kept apart by circumstances beyond their control. I loved the characters of Lachann and Anna. They are passionate and caring and determined to do what is right. Their romance is both tender and passionate. This is the first time that I've read Margo Maguire, but it won't be the last. She is a very talented storyteller.

The Highlander's Desire
The Highlander's Desire by Margo Maguire is an entertaining read. This is a cinderella story with one evil step sister. I enjoyed reading this story in particular because of the inner conflict going on with Lachann and Anna. Both are trying to do whats best for everyone else. They try so hard to ignore their feelings. I couldn't put this book down. I highly recommend this book to readers who've enjoyed other series like the highlander books by Melissa Mayhue.
