From Booklist
In this presumably final book in the Lying Game series, which is dedicated to solving the murder of Sutton Mercer, Shepard does a fine job of building tension and laying believable red herrings along Emma’s route to identifying her twin’s killer. Teenage boys in this cycle continue to receive dramatic but well-earned reputations as violent and jealous (and jealously violent), but the family issues featuring the twins’ grandparents and Emma’s detective work are credibly and engagingly played out. There seems to be little of the Lying Game itself here, except when its notoriety leads authorities to dismiss a witness. This one can stand alone. Grades 8-10. --Francisca Goldsmith

fun YA
By Candace Isenhower
I enjoyed the series even though I thought the books were a little short for my taste. I usually go for the thickest books on the shelf. I only ordered the series after watching the entire TV show on netflix and it was fun to see the story told anew in a different way and with an actual ending. It was a fun YA read.

Amazing, Brillant! I loved this series, it just kept getting better and better!

At the start of the series, i considered this to be just another idea similar to Pretty Little Liars. It was compelling enough to finish but i stated that i was not sure i would continue to purchase countless books by Sara Shepard due to the similarity to PPL. I am TOTALLY hooked on her writing now!! I believe Sara had a bit of trouble getting the ball rolling with this series but once she did everything lined up so nicely, it was thrilling. I found it hard to put down, I began to feel like i knew the characters and that i was there. I felt tired and excited in the same; i just wanted to finish the series but then not, knowing i would miss the characters. I did guess the killer on my own, but i was really annoyed when i got on different site to rate Sara's book a 5 star, someone blurted out the killers name in lower case. Despite knowing the answer, this book had a lot of twists and turns, full of excitement! I still couldn't put it down. I love how the stars and family were tied into this series. I would hope that Sara could start another series of Emma's life after healing there is room for another series but i won't say why, you just have to read it! Sara, you have gained a life long reader and fan!

No Spoilers Here - Just Read This Book!
By BeatleBangs1964
I've had a sneaking liking for this series all along. I read this book from start to finish in a local bookstore. It was THAT riveting.

As we know, Emma Paxton is on the search for her twin sister Sutton Mercer's killer. She has left a bad foster home in Nevada for Arizona, where she discovered her sister was living. However, she never gets to meet Sutton. Sutton, however knows Emma well as she trails her as a spectral form. Sutton can see and hear what is going on, but she cannot recall who killed her that fatal night in the canyons. All she knows is that there is a list of suspects and a few casualties along the way.

As riveting and captivating as this book was, like another reader on the U.S. Amazon boards noted, I had my suspicions honed by the penultimate book, which was #5. Even though I had a suspect, that didn't mean I was right. After all, there is a LOOONG list of suspects, most of whom are ultimately cleared.

Things really tighten up in this book! Each one of the characters are more fleshed out and more fully defined. Emma's secret is out - Quinlan finally nabs her as a possible suspect. However, the questions arise. Despite all the other suspicious characters, Emma remains above board. Quinlan also nabs another person who may or may not have answers as she was friendly with Emma in Nevada.

Surprise witnesses and others crop up. Some or all may have answers about who killed Sutton. There was another casualty whose death has yet to be explained. Was the death of this casualty, who died in #5 in any way connected to Sutton's death? Was the same culprit or culprits involved? And what of the Mercers? Will Emma clear her name?

Naked emotions are what underscore this story. Readers are never left in the lurch and in time......answers are provided. As another U.S. reviewer noted, a suspect cropped up in #5. While I enjoyed the series and was eager to reach the conclusion, it really was a shaggy dog story. A good shaggy dog story and well worth the read.
